The Big Untidy Night Out

Price:
£5

...with John Forrester, Head Of Steam and Baron Mare.

John Forrester is a highly accomplished guitarist and singer/songwriter and ex-member of Reading folk-rock behemoths Pressgang.  He is a very engaging and warm performer who sings heartfelt and beautifully crafted songs.

Head Of Steam are a real one-off.  They are a highly accomplished set of musicians who, on the face of it, look like they might play rhythm and blues or pub-rock.  In fact, they play very well constructed pop tunes which have a nod towards The Teardrop Explodes / Orange Juice type 80s indie, but are definitely not a retro band.

Baron Mare are a brilliant and stylish jazz band.  They play a heady mix of Latin influenced bebop and modern jazz which will blow you away in our small venue.

The whole smörgåsbord will be delicately presented by the wilfully eccentric raconteur and comedian Mikhail the Terrible.

All this for £5!

The Big Untidy Night Out is one of our regular programme events and specialises in bringing new and unusual talent into the Rising Sun Arts Centre. Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players… the possibilities are endless.
