Free - donations welcome

Exhibition of paintings by Damascus based artist Malik Alazami

19th – 25th of June

The Rising Sun Arts Centre will host a small selection of oil paintings by Syrian artist Malik Alazami of his home city Damascus.

Presented alongside works by Ahmad Alazami, who came to Britain as a refugee, is an exhibition of work by two brothers which features different representations of Damascus and the experience of war.

The work shows support for creativity emerging from a war-torn country and reaching across borders to allow artists to be seen and express themselves across nations.

The paintings provide an opportunity to reflect on the past lives of refugees and what they have lost.

This is the first in a series of exhibitions showcasing Syrian Artists.
