Imagining Science: The Symbiosis Project

Price:
Free

Imagining Science are a small group of scientists who are artists, and artists with and interest in science. This project looks at the relationships and collaboration in science and art, using lichen (a symbiosis between fungi and algae) as a starting point. Along the way the project has travelled across continents, and worked with scientists from the University of Reading's Herbarium, and Electron Microscopy lab.

Come along and draw with us, find out more about how art and science work together, how lichen can form amazing patterns, and how you can take part in a national science project by using lichen to monitor what's in the air around you! Artworks include a giant handmade book, 8000 miles in the making. Family drawing days on Saturdays, parental supervision required. Supported by the University of Reading Arts Committee.
