A Landscape of Charms and Machines: Drama Workshop

Price:
Free!

Reading has a long history of participatory drama. Various companies have been inspired by the work of Augusto Boal in Reading to use drama to do diversity training, work with mental health service users to help them get more of what they want from services, work at WOMAD when it was in Reading on a host of issues including homelessness. As part of the Hidden Histories project and the Rising Sun’s 25th anniversary celebrations experienced dramatist John Hoggett will be putting on a free drama workshop leading to a daring intervention somewhere in Reading which raises the issue of homelessness and asks who controls the town?

This workshop is part of A Landscape of Charms and Machines - a large-scale multi-disciplinary project featuring a number of events and activities throughout Reading's Year of Culture. It features hidden landscapes and secret histories of Reading, and celebrates Reading's underground art scene.
