StandUp Cinema: The Fountain

Darren Aronofsky, 2006.The Fountain blends elements of fantasy, history, religion, and science fiction, weaving themes of eternal life and the fear of death through three stories separated in time.

This film is being shown as part of Science Week and we are very pleased to have Dr. Alistair Nunn from the University of Reading along to speak about some of the ideas presented in the film. Dr Nunn works in the field of age-related diseases, cancer and metabolic syndromes. He is a fan of the movie and its philosophical content and will speak about some of the themes and questions that it raises.

StandUp Cinema takes place on the third Friday of every month.
