StandUp Cinema: Stroszek

Price:
£4

1977, Werner Herzog. Herzog’s take on the American dream - part absurd comedy, part moral fable. An ex-prisoner, a little old man and a prostitute, leave Germany to begin a new life in a house trailer in Wisconsin. Who else would shoot the film in the hometown of Ed Gein, the murderer who inspired the film Psycho? Who else would cast all the minor roles with locals? It can only be Werner Herzog.

In all the years that StandUp Cinema has been running, we haven’t shown a Herzog film. Happy to put that right with this undisputed classic.
