It’s a new year, and new programme here at the Rising Sun Arts Centre. We’ve pulled out all the stops to bring you another assortment of regular and one-off events that showcase the best of what we do here at the centre.

You can take a look at a PDF of the Jan-Apr programme – and we’ve chosen some highlights for your delectation, too!

JANUARY

Sun 21st: The return of our Dance Day – a full day of free dance classes (and reasonably priced cakes) giving you the chance to try something new. It’s become an annual tradition!

FEBRUARY

Fri 2nd-Sun 4th: We’re once again proud to be taking part in Independent Venue Week, the only Reading Venue to do so, with a trio of gigs pulled together by Club Velocity.

Sun 11th: One of our oldest events is back once again – it’s Veggie Dining, a three-course set meal of home-made fare brought to you by vintage volunteers.

MARCH

Sat 24th: Fusion – an ensemble of artists working with sound, promising an immersive auditory experience tinged with chaos. Supported by Reading International.

Sun 25th: Get into the swing of things with another Balboa Tea Dance, featuring a free taster class from Balboa Mondays and plenty of tea and cake throughout the afternoon.

APRIL

Sat 7th: An evening with Kinde, a talented composer/songwriter/guitarist and singer from Habana, Cuba. Be prepared to dance!

Sat 14th: Two shows (one matinee, one evening) from Greg Chapman - Physical comedy, risky juggling, stunning magic, daring escapes and so much more!

Sat 28th: We’ll be again part of the town-wide music festival that is Are You Listening? featuring some of the best local and up-and-coming talent in support of Reading Mencap.

And that's on top of your usual classes and workshops, events from Club Velocity, Bandorama, Big Untidy, Scarlet Vixens, Stand-Up Cinema, Tribute Night and more! We hope to see you all here soon.
