Hi Everyone

Now you might be surprised to hear this, but yesterday they held the Most Honest Politician of the Year Contest.  You will probably be less surprised to hear that nobody won!

It’s not all doom and gloom, we have a few things at the Rising Sun to tell you about

On Friday, we bring you THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players, the possibilities are endless.

This month’s Untidy features DAMIAN CLARKE (UK), KENT NIELSEN (DK) and ROBERT HOKUM

Featuring as part of a superbly talented line-up we have Danish ex-punk turned ukulele maestro and singer Kent Nielsen. Kent is usually based in Germany so we are particularly fortunate to have him play as part of his UK tour. He is aided and abetted by the wonderful Damian Clarke. Damian is a virtuoso player of the hammered dulcimer and the hurdy-gurdy as well as singing his own, and traditional folk songs . Damian is a regular performer at the BU and was a founder member of Reading folk-rock royalty 'Pressgang'. Robert Hokum is a great blues guitarist and raconteur who gigs very regularly and organises the Ealing Blues Festival. He is a seriously good blues player who doesn't take the blues, or himself, too seriously.

We’re open at 8pm and it’ll only cost you a paltry £7 on the door to get in
