News has just reached us that late nineties/early noughties gameshow Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is returning to our screens!  However, in line with modern times the show has been rebranded slightly, it's set to be shown after Brexit and will now be called Who Wants Food?  It's still unclear whether Chris Tarrant will be involved...

But enough of such depressing news, we have a couple of things to distract you this weekend!

On Friday THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT proudly presents THE TORCHLIGHT BOOKCLUB

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new undiscovered talent into the Rising Sun Arts Centre.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, wacky cellists and demonic banjo-players…the possibilities are endless. Big Untidy is a state of mind and a great night out. 

And remember - observing something alters that what is being observed. (Or so we're told)

This time around the powers that be at the Big Untidy are thrilled to present a literary-themed evening curated by Lee Switzer. This special event will feature Lee's acoustic outfit THE SEASONS IN SHORTHAND, NIGHTJJAR, KHAMSINA and JAMIE LARBALESTIER

We're open from 7.30pm and it'll only cost you £5 on the door

On Saturday, the ABDOULAYE SAMB DUO return to the Rising Sun once more

Postponed from May, we’re happy to finally welcome Abdoulaye Samb back to the centre.

Abdoulaye is a guitarist, singer and composer from Senegal. His original music is inspired by Fula and Mandinka cultures and his distinctive musical style has grown out of his travels, collaborations and researches in Africa and Europe. Abdoulaye plays a truly remarkable Senegalese blues, which draws on elements of the rich Fula tradition interwoven with Rumba, Mbalax, Afro-Latin and deep blues. He has played with many great artists and groups such as Assane Mboup, Abdou Diop, Salam Diallo, Daby Balde, Abou Thiouballo and Baaba Maal. This evening he'll be joined by percussionist David Fdez. It promises to provide a wonderfully intimate experience of African/Senegalese music.
