Easter is almost upon us!  People working in shopping centres are praying and crossing their fingers saying "please, please let somebody else get to wear the bloody bunny costume", harassed parents roam around the shops muttering "£4.50 for a lousy easter egg?  Never like this in my day"

If this is you, don't worry, it'll soon be over.  Why not have a sit down and have a look at what's on at the Rising Sun this weekend?

On Friday, we bring you STAND UP CINEMA
Stand Up Cinema is our monthly film club with a little bit of help from those nice folks at Real Time VIdeo. It’s the only cinema night in Reading where you can findshort films from local film-makers and a selection of contemporary and classic films that you won’t often find elsewhere. It’s also the only cinema night in town where you can enjoy a beer with your popcorn!
By the way, if you’d like to show a short film of your own, why not drop a line to info@real-time.org.uk? It doesn’t have to be the finished article, it just needs to be 10 minutes or less in length. It’s a great way to get some audience reaction.

This month's main feature is PERSEPOLIS.  (Vincent Parronnaud, Marjane Satrapi, 2007).

Originally a comic book written and drawn by 'Marji' Satrapi, this film follows Marjane through her childhood living under the Shah, witnessing the revolution in Iran and life in the Islamic Republic. The autobiographical story follows her to Vienna and coming to terms with life in the West.

On Saturday, we bring you BANDORAMA

Bandorama reaches it's rip-roaring April instalment and it looks a bit like this...

Wonderful deep throated Swale Delta tinged folk.  Jack will also be launching his new EP tonight
Tthe powers that be at Bandorama him on the wireless via Linda Serck. It was instant - this young chap is very good.
He went down so well at New Years eve that he is back.  He also fronts the Ultimate End.

Bearded anti folk.(A mation swoons!)
As it's Easter, there'll be free hot cross buns and if you ask the bar staff very nicely, they might just possibly warm them up

We're open at 8pm, and it'll cost you £5 on the door or £4 if you go in advance to www.wegoottickets.co.uk

Finally on Sunday, not only do Easter Eggs suddenly get a little bit more affordable, but it’s also time for MILONGA SIMPATICA
Another helping of our small, relaxed milonga affording tango dancers the chance to come together and enjoy an afternoon of social dancing. Tea and homemade cakes are provided and a friendly atmosphere where you can spend a pleasant few hours dancing. Could there be a nicer way to wind down the weekend?
We’re open from 4.30pm til 8pm and entry is £6.at the door.

That's everything for another weekend, just to remind you that you can find us at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST  (If you put us in your Google or Sat Nav, we shall magically appear)

Hi Everyone

It really annoys me how people nowadays are always moaning on about how things were better in the old days.  Nobody ever complained in my day... hang on....
