This Weekend's Events (27th to 29th June)

Hi Everyone

I, your humble narrator, have just had a fascinating glimpse into the year 2074.  People are slightly taller, luminous socks and flared trousers are back in style and somewhat unsurprisingly, people are still moaning about England in the World Cup.

The main problem sixty years from now, is the number of players from Mars and Neptune that are playing in the Premier League thus stifling the development of home grown players, and of course, absolutely nothing to do with the being on the receiving end of back to back 10-0 defeats against the Faroe Islands and East Timor (East Timor have courted some controversy by persuading a six-legged Martian centre-forward to change his allegiance to them before the World Cup started...)

On Friday, there's absolutely no World Cup games at all.  Which means you have absolutely no excuse to be missing CLUB VELOCITY

The June episode of Club Velocity gives you FOUR acts for your delectation this Friday and it looks just so...

"Ace three piece powerful, forward thinking punk rock" is the opinion of Honduras reserve goalkeeper Donis Salatiel Escober!

From France-now based in Reading."Best thing to come out of France since Les Thugs!  Yowsa!"  so says Iran's ice cool custodian of the back four, Javad Nekounam

They really believe in Ross at Velocity HQ.He played his debut show fat the Rising Sun very recently the other week.  "What a voice!  Give this chap twelve months and he could be all over your Zane Lowe and the eNMEy.Huw Stephens wet dream." is what Bosnia's midfield dynamo Sejad Salihovic had to say the other night...
"Fab anti beardy folk core. Wonderful." so says a random passer-by called Wayne Rooney

We're open at 8pm, and it'll cost you £5 on the door or £4 in advance from www.wegottickets.co.uk

(Please note that this gig is for ages 16 and over)

On Saturday. It's time for FIESTA LATINA

A little piece of Cuba hidden away in Reading. A relaxed and friendly Latin party with lots of Latin music so you can dance, or just socialise. You can expect plenty of Salsa, tango and whatever the mood suggests: bachata, milonga, merengue and reggaeton. Maybe more!
We’re open from 9pm and it’ll cost you a paltry £6.to get in

Finally on Sunday, we have CRASH TEST DRAMA

The Crash Test Drama group meet on the last Sunday of every month with great opportunities to create drama…
They can provide constructive feedback on your audition pieces, help you source new writing, or set up a workshop with other actors and a director.
If you've written a piece that you'd like to see acted out? We will throw some actors at you, perform it and provide feedback.
Cold readings, moved readings, targeted workshops and feedback sessions - all to help inspire your next writing project.
If you're looking for guidance on a specific area of acting or directing? We can arrange for an experienced actor or director to come along and work through it with you.
We're open from 6.30pm to 9pm.  Cost dependent on requirement but general attendance is £5. Contact: crashtestdramauk@hotmail.co.uk for more info or find them on Facebook.

That's everything for another weekend, just to remind you that you can find us at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST  (If you put us in your Google or Sat Nav, we shall magically appear)
