Hi Everyone

In our quest to make old things new, and new things familiar, we have a packed weekend for your delectation at the Rising Sun

On Friday, it's time for another CLUB VELOCITY

Another fine selection of beat combos for the enjoyment of us all courtesy of Velocity HQ and it looks just so:-

OCEAN RUINS
They have must been on a diet of grunge/90s flange and been reading old music reviews by ET, recently.. Subpop greatness.  Flannel shirt brilliance.  Sounding like The Muffs when they ruled.  Like Courtney after she married Kurt.  Like eating ice cream on a hot Sunday afternoon.  Harking back to a time when blogs were still cut n paste.  Seattle coffee laid rock and huge slab of roll.  Now make complete sense in 2018.  John Peel would've been a huge fan.

EAT DADDY EAT
You can definitely see their band name on a T Shirt that would not be sold in H&M.  Rock & garage roll from East Reading.  They're let out once in a
while to blow your mind.  All the greatest bands in the history of popular music have been three pieces.  No band needs three guitars.

THE TREACLE FOUNDRY
Are wonderfully hairy.  Not in some Hoxton beardy-craft beer way, but in an Oxford Road, RG30 kinda way.  Sludge dirty mother blues punk.  For people who hate you.Like a bomb going off in your trousers.Perfect.

We’ll be open at 8pm and it’ll cost you £7 on the door, or £5 in advance from www.wegottickets.com

Saturday SCARLET VIXENS present STRANGER FLINGS

Burlesque from the upside down.

Can you best the monsters you encounter on this burlesque/D&D adventure and will your rolls be lucky enough to escape the shadow monster?

A night of nerdlesque weirdness not to be missed featuring the creepy, the scary and the disturbingly wonderful aspects of geek culture.

Watch out for the sexy demagorgon!
Bring your eggos!
Make sure you've got your D20 to hand!
But most importantly, will we get justice for Barb?!

Encounters:
Mariposa Bop
Miss Anticipation
Lady Lisette Ruby
Tootsie Rocques

Dungeon Master:
Mojo Jones

We'll be open from 7.30pm.  Tickets are £12 in advance from http://skiddle.com/e/13102505

Our VIP package is £15 and includes a D20 dice and a guaranteed front row seat with table and retro nibbles (eggos not provided). What are you waiting for? These shows sell out fast so be sure to get your tickets before it's too late!

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
