Hi Everyone

I appreciate the following is somewhat off-topic, but my Uncle Les has asked if any of you know any screenwriters out there.  If you do, he asks if you could get them to rustle up a new TV show about a murder detective who drives a around in a red mk V Ford Cortina Ghia with a black vinyl roof?  Apparently, he's been trying to sell his for a week or two and not had much joy.

I dunno, the things you do for family, (anyhow while we're talking about Ford Cortinas, my Dad had a mk I and in my humble opinion, it was a far superior automobile.  More fool you, Uncle!).  And with that somewhat exhaustive talk about cars done with, it's time to tell you waht's happening at the Rising Sun this weekend

Friday sees the first MADCAP MOONSOUP of the year!

Madcap Moonsoup bring you another evening of unpredictable mayhem and surreal goings on. Every Madcap Moonsoup event is a mix of artistically adventurous performers, comedians, musicians and mimes who combine to create an explosion of comedic possibilities. It’s pandemonium, that’s what it is. Thoroughly enjoyable pandemonium.

Lock away your Winter Jacket and dust down your Red Herring. (Gary, can check whether this is the suitable attire?  There's a good fellow...)  Come and embrace the onset of Spring by coming to Madcap Moonsoup. Playing will be GARY MILLARD, LIISA, JAMIE D'SOUZA and HORSE ROCK!

We're open at 7.30pm and it'll cost you a paltry £4 to get in

On Saturday, THE SCARLET VIXENS bring you BOYYYS AND GIRRRLS

The Scarlet Vixens are back at their original home, the Rising Sun Arts Centre, with a show not to be missed! This time we're bringing you a celebration of male yumminess - gender benders, cross dressers, drag queens/kings, girls being boys and boys being, well, boys! The Scarlet Vixens like you've never seen them before. Mariposa Bop as Jobe Worth, Loretta Von Dini as Loui Von Dini, and a gaggle of Vixens as the T Birds amongst many others!

Hosting the evening will be LORETTA LEBONKE as her drag alter ego, Rusty Gap!

Line up includes:
MISS KITTY PIMMS
MOJO JONES
LAYLA CHERRY
MARIPOSA BOP
LORETTA VON DINI

We are also proud to announce international headlining award-winning male burlesque performer SIR MIDNIGHT BLUES to the line up as well as electrifying circus performer RYAN DARLING! This will be a night to remember, be sure not to miss it!

More details to be released soon!

Tickets are £8 in advance via SeeTickets http://www.seetickets.com/tour/the-scarlet-vixens-boyyys-girrrls- or  Skiddle skiddle.com/e/12892302 and £10 on the door

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)
