Hi Everyone

As the great Noddy Holder* once said – “It’s Chriiiiiistmaaaaaas!!”.  Well, not quite but the festive season has well and truly begun.  It’s that time of year when I am reminded how much I love mince pies and mulled wine and declare that I’ll happily consume both all year round yet somehow never do. Anyway, we have a jam-packed programme of events

And in other news, my comments on Michael Buble have caused one or two comments.  I suspect it's that chap from Radio Solent who thinks Fairytale of New York is frightfully common.  Personally, I find Mr Buble far more harrowing than Shane MacGowan and his mates asking you if you've got any change.  There's also a very busy Saturday to tell you about at the Rising Sun

Saturday morning brings another BOOKFACE BOOKCLUB

An informal artists book group. Ideal for sharing your latest book finds and creations sometimes includes art and craft activities for bookmaking

We're open from 10am-12noon and it's only £4

Saturday afternoon brings a special festive edition of the YELLOW TEAPOT CAFE

We welcome the Yellow Teapot Cafe back for their last pop-up of the year, with a little Christmas inspired workshop to make paper wreaths, tree decorations, winter flowers or anything else wintery that takes your fancy. Plus tea and cake!

We're open from 1pm to 3pm and it won't cost you a single penny to come along

Finally, on Saturday evening, it's time for a STRIKE UP SCRATCH NIGHT

Join StrikeUp for a pacy evening of back to back theatre, featuring new works from our StrikeUp Forum writers, selected performances from our adult classes and a sneak preview & special announcement about the company's next project.

This event is a fundraiser, we are asking for minimum donations of £5 on the door and an opportunity to win prizes throughout the evening, so please bring plenty of cash!

We have tickets on the door, to reserve a place, contact Rachel: rachel@strikeuptheatre.co.uk  or 07514712785.

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

* I quite like Slade by the way, but that never play "Gudbuy T'Jane" or "Look Wot U Dun" at the time of year.. can't think why...
