Hi Everyone

You know something?  That Martin Lewis is a jammy so and so!  He's become a multi-millionaire by effectively saying "shop around for the best deal" on primetime TV for half an hour every week for years.  If the bosses at ITV or Radio Five are reading this, I'm prepared to do that for half of what you're paying him

And while I'm waiting to hear back, here's what we have un store at the Rising Sun this weekend

Friday sees another BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players, the possibilities are endless

This time, the powers that be at Big Untidy, are pleased and proud to introduce an interesting and lovely new voice. PEM is a singer songwriter with a distinct Gallic tinge. The professors of modern skiffle DR SLIDESHOW also make a welcome return. NICK VEAR is better known to you as part of 80's influenced popsters Head of Steam, JESS TUTHILL writes and performs original songs  on uke and loop pedal, completing an amazing bill as she makes her Untidy debut

We're open from 7.30pm and it'll only cost you a paltry £5 on the door to get in

Saturday morning brings another BOOKFACE BOOKCLUB

An informal artists book group. Ideal for sharing your latest book finds and creations, sometimes includes art and craft activities for book making

We're open from 10am-12noon and it's only £4

Saturday afternoon sees the return of the YELLOW TEAPOT CAFE

The Yellow Teapot Cafe might do everything a cafe might do. You can buy tea, coffee and soft drinks, biscuit and cake. But we are an event, a haven for those who like to relax, look at books, be creative and drink tea.

We're open from 1pm to 3pm and it'll cost you nothing to come in!

On Saturday evening sees another visit from the SCARLET VIXENS

The Scarlet Vixens are back at their original home, the Rising Sun Arts Centre, with a show not to be missed!

LIP SYNC BATTLE!

Who will win? You decide!

Hosted by: Mariposa Bop

Starring:

Demonica Latex
Layla Cherry

Tickets are £8 in advance and £12 on the door. Our VIP package is £17 and includes a glass of fizz on arrival and a guaranteed front row seat with table and nibbles. What are you waiting for? These shows sell out fast so be sure to get your tickets before it's too late!

Finally on Sunday, it's time for TANGO SELECT

A small, friendly afternoon milonga aimed at giving people a chance to dance tango in a relaxed and stress-free environment and this month we bring you live music from Tango Select. Tango Select play a selection of very danceable tangos, vals and milongas. Great for dancers or come to listen and enjoy the ambience and the friendly atmosphere of the Rising Sun.

We'll be open from 3pm-6pm  And it'll cost you a paltry £8. Join us.

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)
