The Big Untidy Night Out

Price:
£5

This month... we bring you the hyper-blues of Leeds-based combo Fighting Caravans and the very clever yet hard-rocking Thunder On The Left.  To complete the bill we have the soprano-fronted symphonic metal of Incarnadine Coven.

In an exciting new development, this event will be compered by the eccentric genius that is Mikhail the Terrible. Still only £5!

Fighting Caravans – Originating from Leeds and playing this gig fresh from appearances at Reading/Leeds festivals, Fighting Caravans were formed in early 2014. They are producing a nationwide stir with their particular strain of mutant blues rock. The group have a vintage sound but these boys are no retrograde dad rockers. They describe themselves as ‘tacky disco meets political and spiritual disdain with Americana/Blues overtones’.

Thunder On The Left – Sharing their name with Christopher Morley’s dark gothic-tinged 1925 novel, TOTL are a sophisticated take on modern indie hard rock. Clever lyrics indicate that a subversive intellect is at work here. As a live proposition they are exciting and propulsive.

Incarnadine Coven – These Reading-based melodic metallers bring a whole new twist to the genre with classically-trained lead vocalist Rebecca driving the performance with choral and operatic flourishes. Accomplished live performers, the band should not be missed in a small setting like ours.

Entry will be ONLY £5 and the doors will open at 7:30pm. Facebook event here.

Our quest to bring you the most inspiring artists on the most fabulous bills continues on the second Friday of every month... excepting January (too cold) and August (Here Comes The Sun festival).

The Big Untidy is a fanzine / online magazine / discussion forum founded in 1994 and has been championing the good and unusual in art since then. The BU runs a celebration of music and art every month at the Rising Sun Arts Centre.
