Club Velocity

Club Velocity is Reading's leading bandnight and has been happening at the Rising Sun Arts Centre since March 2003 hosting the likes of Bloc Party (before anyone cared – the band still claim it as one of their favourite venues), Elle Milano, Help She Can’t Swim, New Rhodes and so on. The Mail on Sunday showed up once. Chris Hufford (Manager of Radiohead/Supergrass) paid to get in and loved the centre. John Moore (Ex Jesus and Mary Chain) has been down once or twice.

Club Velocity takes place every fourth Friday of the month.

If you’ve not heard already, we were voted the Venue of the Year in The Ocelot magazine’s Big Fat review of 2014.
The Rising Sun has taken delivery of a brand new piano for the centre. Replacing the long-serving (but increasingly long-in-the-tooth) baby grand, this new piano is slightly smaller but no less grand!
This Saturday we celebrate the 12th Birthday of Club Velocity here at the Rising Sun. So as we prepare for the party, we caught up with the birthday boy himself – Sid Siddle…   RSAC - Club Velocity turns 12 years old. How did it come about?
Hi Everyone Before I, your humble narrator, regale you with news of this weekend's happenings and goings on at the Rising Sun, we've got something else to tell you about
