First Acts Announced for Here Comes The Sun!

We’re delighted to announce the first acts gracing the stage(s) for this year’s Here Comes The Sun Festival!

It’s a very warm welcome back to Reading’s own Empress Of The Blues, Ma Bessie and Her Pig Foot Band! And at the other end of the musical scale – but no less of a warm welcome back – it’s a somewhat stripped back version of alt synth-poppers No Feathers!

We’ve got some new faces making their HCTS debuts this year, too. Wolfnote will bring their personal brand of modern, original folk, and Checkendon-based singer-songwriter Steve Daniels will bring his “stories and catchy tunes”.

Here Comes The Sun has always been a great showcase for the communities that call the centre home – and this year is no exception. The Zap! Comedy troupe will bring us another hilarious sketch, and we’ll have performances from several of the regulars from the monthly Dreading Slam poetry nights.

Music, comedy, poetry… and that’s just for starters!

We’ll have more names confirmed in the coming weeks – watch this space, and grab your tickets now!

Hi Everyone

It really annoys me how people nowadays are always moaning on about how things were better in the old days.  Nobody ever complained in my day... hang on....

This Saturday, Greg Chapman brings his “one-man variety” show to the centre, with two performances – a family-friendly matinee and a more grown-up evening show.

Hi Everyone

Did you know that I once made a replica nuclear submarine out of polystyrene.  It didn't go down very well
