Hi Everyone

We'd like to remind you about our YouTube page.  It's great, even if we say so ourselves!  We've been quite busy at the Rising Sun, uploading fantastic new videos of events at the centre, and we're also collecting existing videos of events, workshops and good times over the past few years into some easy-to-watch playlists.

Check it out and click on "subscribe" so you can stay updated with new videos as they're uploaded at....

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCd_wYDxnRSU8VlvixBjeNXw

You might be interested to know that once we reach the grand total of 100 subscribers, we can change our not so memorable URL to something that trips off the tongue a little easier!  You know you want to.  Go On!  Go on! Go on!  Go on! Go on etc

And now we've got that out of the way, it's time to let you know what's happening at the Rising Sun this weekend

Friday sees the return of CLUB VELOCITY

Another fine selection of beat combos for the enjoyment of us all courtesy of Velocity HQ and it looks just so:-

THE AUGUST LIST
Firm Club Velocity and Rising Sun faves/legends.
Their new album is our fave album of 2017 (so far)

BURNT TOMORROW
Mighty fine forward thinking folk.  Your fave forward thinking folk punks and one of our fave local bands.

ANDY CITAWARMAN
From Australia, now working and living in Reading.  This is his debut Reading show.  From what we have heard musically, you will not be disappointed.

We’ll be open at 8pm and it’ll cost you £6 on the door, or £5 in advance from www.wegottickets.com or www.skiddle.com

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to cancel this Saturday's FIESTA LATINA.  Be rest assured, however, that it'll be back in January.

Sunday sees another OPEN PAGE/OPEN STAGE

A monthly collaborative event for writers, artists, musicians, and everyone in between! The premise is an extension of the traditional ‘open mic’, however the focus is on words and collaboration. We want people to come and showcase their art in a safe and comfortable environment. If you’re an artist, bring your work early on so we can hang it around. If you write – poetry, prose, songs, plays – bring a piece or an excerpt. Actors – come and practice for auditions! If you play an instrument, bring it along! Think of the evening as a cross-creative spectrum jam night.

We’re open at 7pm and it’s absolutely FREE!

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Hi Everyone

Now you might be surprised to hear this, but yesterday they held the Most Honest Politician of the Year Contest.  You will probably be less surprised to hear that nobody won!
