Club Velocity

Club Velocity is Reading's leading bandnight and has been happening at the Rising Sun Arts Centre since March 2003 hosting the likes of Bloc Party (before anyone cared – the band still claim it as one of their favourite venues), Elle Milano, Help She Can’t Swim, New Rhodes and so on. The Mail on Sunday showed up once. Chris Hufford (Manager of Radiohead/Supergrass) paid to get in and loved the centre. John Moore (Ex Jesus and Mary Chain) has been down once or twice.

Club Velocity takes place every fourth Friday of the month.

Christmas and New Year celebrations at the Rising Sun

We’re bursting at the seams with festive fun this December. This Sunday’s Christmas Art Market kicked off our Christmas programme here at the centre, and we’ve got plenty of fun ways for you to spread the holiday cheer.

Independent Venue Week at the Rising Sun

We’re the only venue in Reading taking part in this year’s Independent Venue Week, a “7 day celebration of small music venues around the UK and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out.”
