The Jan-April programme is nearly here

A new year means a new programme. After a bumper 2016 that saw the Reading’s Year of Culture, the centre’s 25th birthday, a Flint Giant parade, 10 years of Tribute Night and SO much more, we’ve got plenty to be excited about in as we enter 2017.
The printed programmes should be arriving soon – sorry for the delay! – but here are some highlights of the Jan-April calendar here at the Rising Sun
- Stand Up Cinema moves to the third Tuesday of the month, starting with Ken Loach’s Kes TONIGHT
- We’ve got three consecutive Club Velocity Gigs on 27th, 28th and 29th January as part of Independent Venue Week
- February sees Tribute Night celebrate George Michael and Wham!, brings us a board game night with original games from artist Cally Trench, a gig to raise funds for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint and another mammoth Dance Day
- In March The Scarlet Vixens return for Drag Kings, Queens and Boylesque, plus another Contemporary Art Show
- April brings Alan Clayson and the Argonauts and dance workshops/performance with Reside Dance – plus we’ll once again be part of Are You Listening? Festival
